In the morning we were greeted by sunny and warm weather. We made a trip to the north of Karabakh to visit Gandzasar Monastery which since its renovation in the year 2000 looks like new from the outside, even though it had been built in the 13th century. On the area they also built a new seminary for priests.

After visiting the monastery we returned to Stepanakert. Unfortunately it is not possible to just go where you like in Karabakh as the ground is still full of land mines.

Here we also met a cleaning crew in uniforms - and always with happy faces :)
In the afternoon we had some time off (it was the only time off we had during the entire trip!) and many of us used the lovely weather for a stroll through Stepanakert.

The restaurant in which we had dinner was named "Edem" and was close to the hotel. The interior was beautifully romantic - or kitschy, depending on the view ;) - and at least a particular person was sorry that her own wedding had already taken place as this had really been THE interior - especially as there was already a table set for a wedding party!
